Happy Trails to You
When I was about 5 years old, cowboy shows were very popular. There was Sky King and The Lone Ranger (which was originally on radio.) I especially liked Roy Rogers, with his horse Trigger. His wife Dale Evans co-starred. Her horse was Buttermilk. Their show always ended with Roy and Dale singing “Happy Trails to You.”
It seems like a fitting sentiment for the last of my Trailhead columns. This is the end of my term as president of Grand Rapids Front Runners & Walkers. We are at the end of this trail, but as we continue on others I would like to leave you with this sentiment:
Some trails are happy ones;
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts.
Here's a happy one for you.
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin’ until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, ’til we meet again.
