Grand Rapids Front Walkers / Runners
welcomes Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender people and our friends and
allies for running, walking, and social activities. We have informal walk/runs
every Tuesday evening and Saturday morning throughout the year. During
the summer we schedule additional outings to the Saugatuck/Douglas area
on alternate Thursday evenings. Our walk/runs are followed by meals at
local restaurants, and everybody is welcome to join us.
In addition to our regular walk/run, we have social occasions throughout
the year — among them a summer solstice picnic, a December holiday party,
and an Academy Awards gala.
Supporting Our Community
Grand Rapids Front Walkers/Runners have a history of supporting our
community. We have contributed a total of $50,000 in proceeds from our
annual Pride 5K race to various charities through the years. Our members also participate in other community fund-raising activities, including the annual GRACE Hunger Walk and AIDS Walk Grand Rapids.
